Cynefin Caerffili is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors who are responsible for leading the Social enterprise and ensuring it is fulfilling its remit. The Trustees offer a range of skills, attributes, experience and community knowledge that collectively enable them to provide leadership and good governance.

Emlyn Davies

Following a decade of experience as a freelance 3D artist, Emlyn founded Bomper Studio alongside his wife Ceri Davies in 2014; an independent creative production studio creating work for advertising, branding and broadcast based in the centre of Caerphilly town. Emlyn oversees all of Bomper’s creative output for brands such as Levi’s, Glenfiddich, Volvo, Carlsberg, and many more household brands. Emlyn is truly passionate about his craft, and it’s often his dedication and attention-to-detail which takes a project to the next level. And it’s his inherent drive to challenge the studio’s ambition that has resulted in exciting growth.

In 2020 Emlyn directed Coffee Run, a short 3D-animated film centred on a character struggling to make a complex coffee round for his colleagues. This was shortly followed by working with American comic book artist, Colonel Tony Moore, to produce a music video for Tyler Childers, and directing two animated music videos for the Foo Fighters. To date, Emlyn’s work has been nominated and shown at 5 film festivals, included in over 50 articles (from the Rolling Stone, NME, Cartoon Brew, Animation Magazine and more) and received over 9 million views.

As a native Welsh speaker and a proud Welshman Emlyn is keen to showcase the language and cultural heritage on the global stage. Living within a stones throw of Caerphilly town centre he has the local knowledge and the towns interests at heart.

Paul Pole

Paul has dedicated his life to the betterment of his community. Born and raised in this historic town, Paul’s roots run deep in the local soil, driving his passion for community engagement and philanthropy.

In 1989, alongside his brother Darren, he founded Tower Print, a local business that prioritised corporate responsibility and community support. After 35 years, Paul and Darren semi-retired, selling the business to focus on charitable endeavours.

Paul’s passion for community service led him to Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall in 2018, where he quickly became a trustee and now this year, he will be taking on the role of Treasurer. His goal is to restore the Hall as a vibrant community hub, hosting cultural events and supporting local talent. From hosting renowned artists like Brian Bilston and Dr. John Cooper Clark to supporting local theatre groups such as The Caerphilly Players, the Hall has already begun to reclaim its status as an entertainment destination. Paul’s goal is to expand upon this momentum, offering a diverse range of cultural experiences, including music, theatre, film, and art, to the people of Caerphilly.

Moreover, Paul remains committed to ensuring that the Hall serves as a space for charitable activities and fundraising events, further strengthening the bonds within the community. As the Hall approaches its 100th anniversary in 2025, Paul’s dedication to its preservation and revitalisation remains unwavering.

Paul continues to make a lasting impact on Caerphilly’s cultural and social landscape, embodying the town’s spirit of community and service.
