Driven by the need to save the Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall, and recognising the potential to enhance and create new creative offerings, we have formed a community led combined team which is supported by the 2035 Placemaking plan project team.
We believe that everyone is creative, and that creativity has the power to change people and places for the better. We aim to build creative capacity through enabling purposeful employment, build local economic resilience, widen cultural engagement and enhance aspiration.
Over the next six years, our goals are to kindle a passion for creative self-expression, to impart knowledge and skills in both English and Welsh, and to offer a diverse range of creative programmes and activities located at the heart of Caerphilly town.
Through a rich tapestry of activity and programming we aim to:
- Cultivate and showcase creativity, activity and ideas
- Inspire learning through creative practice and provide accessible pathways for all
- Strengthen community participation and identity
- Preserve and celebrate cultural heritage
- Drive social impact and change
- Celebrate diversity in all its forms
- Provide a hub for signposting nearby cultural and heritage based venues
- Provide a free to access place to gather
